Our story, our beliefs, and the people who lead our community.
Our Mission: To know Christ deeply and make Him known widely — through authentic worship, compassionate service, and intentional discipleship.
Our Vision: A church where every person — regardless of background, age, or life stage — finds a genuine sense of belonging, purpose, and encouragement to grow.
Since planting our roots in Coquitlam in 1987, Emmanuel Iranian Church has been committed to building bridges within our diverse Tri-Cities community. We believe faith is best lived out together.
Our faith is grounded in Scripture and guided by the historic Christian tradition.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — our ultimate guide for faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully human — born of a virgin, crucified for our sins, and risen from the dead.
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, grants spiritual gifts, and empowers us for service.
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone — a free gift received, not earned.
We believe the local church is God's primary instrument for transformation in individuals and communities.
A warm place to gather, worship, and grow together.
Our Building
Inside Our Church
"The church isn't a building — it's people choosing, week after week, to do life together."
Pastor Mehrdad has served Emmanuel Iranian Church for over 16 years. He holds a Master of Divinity from Regent College in Vancouver and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Trinity Western University.
Originally from Ontario, Mehrdad moved to BC in 2003 and fell in love with the Tri-Cities. He and his wife Sarah — a music teacher and worship leader — have three children and are deeply invested in the Coquitlam community through local schools, sports leagues, and neighbourhood initiatives.
He is passionate about expository preaching, cross-cultural outreach, and helping people discover how faith connects to everyday life.
Dedicated leaders who serve, shepherd, and support our congregation.
